Ry completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2005. After 6 years as a personal trainer, he went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy with an emphasis on orthopedics from the University of St. Augustine in 2012.
Dr. Peterson constantly pursues continued education in rehabilitation, fitness and nutrition to keep current with his knowledge and that of the industry. His emphasis is in functional training such as pre and post operative rehabilitation, injury prevention, strengthening, agility/coordination, range of motion and flexibility. Add to this, a specialty in the modalities of core and stability training, resistance stretching, myofacial manipulation and manual therapy for a well rounded health and fitness professional.
To add to his impressive resume, Dr. Peterson’s belief is that balancing the body functionally prepares the body for dynamic changes, whether they occur on the physical or mental level and shows special attention to how the individual would best be assisted. His motivating attitude and unique ability to convey his message encourages his clients to live a healthy lifestyle while gaining more confidence in their abilities in and out of his training environment.
With years of playing collegiate football, and a passion for surfing, hiking, traveling, and gardening, Dr. Peterson currently resides in La Jolla with his wife Suzie, and their two dogs.
